  1. Thank you for posting this video. As you know, there are a myriad of videos that help teach us how to slap, but I have yet to see a video that addresses amp/bass tone settings. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

  2. The bassist on this song is the great Abe Laboriel; – listen carefully for the double stops and chords on the bridge. Very tasty . . . The instrument I believe is a modified Precision Bass w/an additional pickup located at the bottom of the neck; – there’s a photo of Abe playing it on the the album cover of Larry Carlton’s “Sleepwalk”. In a mid-1980’s Guitar Player Magazine interview, he was quoted as preferring P-Basses over Jazz Basses since the “J” didn’t have enough “personality” for him.
